Brooklyn

- Health
- Brooklyn started us off in February with our first trip to the
ER of 2011 after she fell out of a swing and literally landed on her
face. (She checked out just fine, other than the black eye!)
- She also has had no recurrence of the bowel intussusception that she had in October of 2010. We're so thankful!
- School: She will turn 5 in April and is anxious to start Kindergarten this fall, but is doing some preschool work right now.
- Favorites
- Helping in the kitchen. In fact, I can hardly BE in the kitchen without her asking me if she can help! (And she really IS good help!)
- Anything girly-girly, like perfume, fingernail polish, necklaces, purses, and dressing up.
- Believe it or not, she also LOVES bugs. Well, it's worse than that--she loves anything slimy and/or disgusting. Worms, beetles, grass hoppers, lady bugs, caterpillars, praying mantis, spiders, toads, frogs. You name it, she has boxed up every one of them that she can find (the bigger, the better) and tried to convince me she needs to keep it in the house as her pet.
- Along the same lines of disgusting-ness, she thoroughly enjoyed dissecting the cow eyeball (she was my most enthusiastic student), and was particularly fascinated by the lens (photo below.) She carried it around the rest of the day and that night I found it all dried up in her pocket! YUCK!
- Playing outside, whether that means swinging or swimming, or building snowmen.
- Milestones:
- She is SUPER excited that her hair is finally growing out and can actually be put into a pony tail! (Don't know that story? Click here.)
- She really took off learning how to swim this summer! (see video at bottom)
